Building skills, constructing futures

Empowering students aged 13–18 through trade skills and academic support

Who We Are

STEP is a provision for pupils aged 13-18 who struggle with a traditional classroom and need a more hands-on, holistic approach.

Our provision is a transition and destination setting dependant on the needs and age of the pupil. It may be pupils at risk of permanent exclusion, those who need respite from their home school or pupils who are currently not attending school at all as well as a potential extra addition to a home-educated pupil.

Not every young person thrives in a traditional classroom.

For many students aged 13–18, rows of desks and textbooks create anxiety rather than engagement, leading to a cycle of lost confidence.

Our provision is fully flexible:

we operate as a full-time alternative for those without a school place, a part-time respite partner for schools, or a vocational add-on for home-educated students.

Our holistic approach integrates practical trade skills and 1:1 academic support to equip students with the tools, qualifications, and resilience needed for a successful future.

Our approach

Academic Foundation

We provide tailored 1:1 tuition, on-site or online, to close educational gaps and maintain core subject progress.

Holistic Development

We look beyond the curriculum to build the self-esteem, resilience and the emotional control needed for adult life.

Vocational Engagement

We re-ignite a love for learning through practical, hands-on training in construction and mechanics.
